Company Announcement

We’re pleased to announce that Allwood Recycling Solutions has been acquired by Papilo Ltd, a fast-growing total waste management group with a strong specialism in organic waste.

This marks an important milestone in our journey and signals an exciting new phase of growth for our business, our customers, and our people. While it is very much business as usual, with the same trusted team and reliable service, joining Papilo enables us to expand the depth of the waste and recycling solutions we can offer.

The acquisition significantly strengthens the combined group’s market position and service capability. Together, Allwood and Papilo form a business with approximately £60 million in revenues and a highly experienced team of around 200 people. By bringing our expertise together, we are creating a more comprehensive and resilient platform capable of delivering total waste management and recycling services across the retail, FMCG, food manufacturing, logistics and distribution sectors.

Allwood’s long-standing experience and knowledge, particularly in pallet recovery and packaging waste, is highly complementary to Papilo’s specialism in organic waste and broader total waste management infrastructure. This alignment of capabilities allows the enlarged group to better support customers seeking zero landfill solutions and circular economy outcomes.

Importantly, this partnership is built on shared values. Papilo and Allwood have a strong cultural alignment and a common commitment to delivering positive environmental and social impact. Papilo is backed by Palatine Impact, a purpose-driven investor that supports businesses generating measurable change for society and the environment. This ensures that sustainability remains central to our strategy as we continue to grow. This transaction represents Papilo’s second, and largest, acquisition since partnering with Palatine’s Impact Fund, further demonstrating their commitment to building a leading sustainable waste management group.

Our Managing Director, Gavin Ebery, commented:

“This deal brings together two purpose-driven, like-minded businesses and I’m very excited about the opportunities it will bring to our customers and our people. We look forward to a new phase of growth as part of Papilo, in a market where increasing numbers of businesses are rolling out zero waste strategies.”

We would like to sincerely thank our customers and partners for your continued trust and support. We are proud of what Allwood has built and excited about what lies ahead. As part of Papilo, we are stronger, more capable, and better positioned than ever to deliver innovative, sustainable waste and recycling solutions.
